Dr. David Ludwig

Dr. David Ludwig has blended an academic background in theology and psychology throughout his professional career. In 1965 he earned his M.Div. degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, and then completed his Ph.D. at Washington University, St. Louis, in 1966. His creative combination of these two disciplines has spanned more than 45 years as a university professor, a licensed psychologist and a Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod pastor. During this time he has written several books and numerous professional articles, while speaking internationally on the spiritual growth of relationships involving oneself, one's family and the church.

He and his wife, Kathy, have been married for 50 years and have 3 sons and 7 grandchildren.

Monique Nunes

Monique Nunes is an administrator at Baltimore Lutheran School. She is a graduate of Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Mich., and of Webster University in St. Louis, Mo. She previously served as the principal and early childhood director at St. John Lutheran School in Forest Park, Ill. Her favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11-"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.'"

Nunes has taught for Bible Study Fellowship as a children's leader. She has lead many workshops around the country as well. Using song Nunes has blessed many throughout the world with her vocal music performances. She is married to Rev. Dr. John Nunes, and they are the parents of five children. In addition to her work in the educational field, Nunes is a writer. She and her husband have co-authored Little Things Make Big Differences. She also has been published in Lutheran Women's Quarterly. As a volunteer for Lutheran World Relief, she has traveled all over the United States and internationally.


Rev. Ben Gonzales

Born in Pecos, Texas, and raised in Houston, Texas, Ben Gonzales studied at Concordia University in Austin, Texas. There he earned a bachelor's degree in Mexican-American studies and a minor in biblical languages. He and his wife, Katherine, have four children. In 1999 they moved to St Louis where he entered Concordia Seminary, St Louis. Two years later he served his vicarage in Hayward, California, outside San Francisco. After graduating from Concordia Seminary, he and his family moved back to Houston, where he served as associate pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the Heights. There he was in charge of youth ministry and launching a new worship venue.

In 2004 Gonzales and his family were called to St. Louis, where he helped to plant Jefferson Hills Church, www.jhchurch.org. Following this he took a call to return to Houston to begin planting urban inner-city churches alongside LINC Houston in 2010. Gonzales also serves full time with Lutheran Social Services at the Krause Children's Center in Katy, Texas, where he works with teens in Child Protective Services and with those on probation. He and Katherine are working on Unveil Church, an inner-city church effort, www.unveilchurch.org.
